Security and access restriction:

Two options of securing access to data are generally available.

Screen based:

This will allow convenient access to functions and facilities as needed by authorised staff and eliminate the need to switch users and or operate additional PC’s.

A username/password scheme of authorisation is associated with user access records contained with in the system.

Buttons and screens are to be either granted or denied access and hidden based on access permissions.

This style of security implementation is a standard method of securing information and systems.

The design of screens is altered to suit access requirements. It is not wise to include information needed by one particular user if another user holds the access permissions to that particular item.

Function based:

The function based security module includes the above as well as providing for per user access control over field and data accessibility.

Function base security is complex and requires consultation time between Entimex and your company to establish the exact framework and parameters within which this module will operate.

Function based security is a second tier of access control based on which screens are available to each user.

Consultation time between your company and Entimex Networks is increased as access to each individual item of information contained within the software needs to be accounted for.

The decision to grant access to any particular segment of data must be deliberate and calculated.
